Their story — in their own words

My mum is currently living with kidney failure and depends on dialysis multiple times every week just to stay alive.

Doctors have made it clear that dialysis is not a long-term solution. A kidney transplant is now her best and only real chance at survival and recovery.

For over a year, our lives have completely changed around trying to keep her alive.

I used the savings I had set aside for my UK master’s degree at the University of Dundee to pay for her treatment and dialysis, and eventually had to leave the UK and return home to care for her full-time.

Right now I am not only her daughter, but also her primary caregiver, doing everything I can to keep her stable while we continue preparing for transplant.

The support we’ve received so far has genuinely kept us going, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, shared our story or prayed for us.

However, part of the funds raised have already gone into ongoing dialysis sessions, medications, hospital bills, tests and treatment over the past year while we continue trying to reach transplant stage.

I am deeply grateful for every donation received. These costs have been unavoidable as we continue working towards her kidney transplant thereby reducing the funds currently available for the procedure. Our £25,000 fundraising target reflects the estimated cost of her transplant journey, including ongoing treatment, transplant preparation, surgery and recovery.

We still need your help to cover these medical costs and give my mum the best possible chance of receiving the treatment she needs. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer.

Thank you for your support.
